The Meteor Tube Battery TVC Line Preamplifier is a line preamplifier featuring a toroidal silver wire transformer volume control and an active tube impedance driver device powered by battery. It is based on a custom toroidal silver wired transformer volume control stage, thus avoiding any resistive attenuation in the signal path. Three switchable inputs can easily be selected on the front side. Even very high impedance analogue or digital front ends can be used with this line preamplifier, as its input stage is of high impedance (over 220Kohms), while is maximum output impedance is lower than 200 ohms. This line amplifier is a highly optimised design using only the very best parts. Those include extreme low ESR supply by-pass capacitors, none of which is of the polarized type. High quality Silver RCA input and output connectors, are being used. Optional XLR input and output connectors can be ordered (The XLR input in this case is input number 1) All internal wiring is made using Audio Consulting’s own silver wire and cotton sleeves. When fully open (position 24), the SWGLA provides a gain of 8dB. We recommend a break in period of 50-100 hours. During this period no final judgement of the SWGLA should be made concerning its sonic performances. We do however believe that it will be very satisfying right out of the box. Install it on a vibration free surface, at least 50cm to 300cm away from any power supply transformer.
